Cook grains
Simmering whole grains like farro, quinoa, or bulgur in seasoned liquid until tender. The ratio and time vary: quinoa is 1:2 in 15 minutes; farro (semi-pearled) is 1:3 in 25–30 minutes. Always rinse first and season the cooking liquid — grains absorb it entirely, so bland water means bland grains.
