Halve and pit
Cutting around the seed of a stone fruit or avocado, twisting the halves apart, and removing the pit. The most efficient way to break into one for slicing or scooping.

- peaches
- plums
- cherries
In the kitchen
- run knife around the seed lengthwise
- twist halves in opposite directions
- tap the knife heel into the pit and twist out
